Where Is Our Palm Oil Produced?

Did you know that Natrabliss uses Organic Sustainable Palm Oil, which from our source is a sustainable resource not grown in the rainforest, or jungle regions? A lot of misinformation surrounds palm oil because a large number of companies are deforesting to plant palm oil trees. This practice is hurting our ecosystems.

Many people "demonize" palm oil use, but it is a fact that there are a few regions of the world that can produce palm oil without the need for deforestation.

Our palm oil comes from Colombia, as does our cacay oil. South America does not have an orangutan population, and rainforest area is not required to produce palm plants. There is plenty of area to plant that is not in the rainforest. Many people either ignore the palm oil issue, or draw the line because it is such a tricky issue and many don't have the right information.

Large amounts of land in Colombia can produce palm oil trees without getting into the southern rainforest areas. Although high elevation is not ideal to grow palm, Northern Colombia does indeed offer high temps all year long and supports all growing seasons. There are also plenty of valleys that are ideal for palm production.

I hope this information is helpful. Natrabliss will always aim for eco-friendly ingredients, while at the same time providing a perfect balance in our formulations. We carefully research each company sourcing our ingredients. Enjoy the bliss...

"...21 palm oil companies had signed a Zero Deforestation Agreement with the Ministry of Environment as part of Colombia’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. “This initiative seeks to ensure that the signatory companies can demonstrate that their palm oil production and supply chains are free of deforestation,” Fedepalma president Mesa said."
